Use case

A to-do list that sits next to your Google Calendar

Your meetings live in Google Calendar and your to-dos live somewhere else, so every morning you jump between two apps to work out what actually fits in the day. Rotyn puts both on one screen: your calendar events next to your tasks, so you plan around what is already booked.

Why tasks and meetings belong on the same screen

A calendar tells you where you have to be. A to-do list tells you what you want to get done. Neither answers the real question of the morning: with four meetings today, which three tasks can I realistically finish? Seeing both side by side makes the answer obvious, and it stops you from promising more than the day can hold.

How Rotyn works with Google Calendar

Rotyn reads your Google Calendar and shows it where you plan:

  • Connect one or more Google accounts, work and personal, and choose which calendars to show.
  • Today’s events appear next to today’s tasks, and tasks with a date show up on that day in the month, week and day views.
  • Each calendar keeps its own color, so work and personal are easy to tell apart.
  • Get a reminder 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes before each event, and a summary of your day every morning.

Read-only, on purpose

Rotyn only reads your calendar. It never creates, moves or deletes events, so connecting it can’t mess up a shared calendar or a meeting someone else owns. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, and deleting your account also revokes Rotyn’s access.

It also means Rotyn is not a two-way sync tool: your tasks stay in Rotyn and don’t become calendar events. If you want tasks written into Google Calendar as time blocks, another tool will suit you better.

What’s free and what’s Pro

Tasks, tags and sync across your devices are part of Rotyn Free. The Google Calendar integration is part of Rotyn Pro, and every new account gets Pro free for 14 days with no card, so you can try it with your real week before deciding. When the trial ends you continue on Free, and nothing is deleted.

A one-minute morning

Open Rotyn, look at today’s meetings, then pick the few tasks that fit around them. Anything left from yesterday is one tap away from today. It takes a minute, and for the rest of the day you only need to check one screen.

Questions

Does Rotyn change anything in my Google Calendar?

No. Access is read-only: Rotyn shows your events and reminds you before them, but it never creates, edits or deletes them.

Can I connect a work calendar and a personal one?

Yes. You can connect several Google accounts and pick which calendars from each one to show.

Does it work with Outlook or Apple Calendar?

Not at the moment. Rotyn connects to Google Calendar only.

Is the Google Calendar integration free?

It is part of Rotyn Pro. Every new account gets Pro free for 14 days, no card needed, and Rotyn Free keeps working after that.
